Safe alternatives to refractory ceramic fibre

Tenmat’s range of high performance technical insulation products provide safe alternatives to conventional refractory ceramic fibre (RCF) and asbestos materials without compromising on performance.

The materials are regularly used in safety and critical process applications such as high temperature conveyor rollers, gaskets for molten metal and hot gases, backup insulation in ladles and furnaces, and sacrificial liners in casting processes.

Applications

Ferobide comes in various thicknesses to suit “low profile” requirements, whilst leading edges remain sharp. The specialist Ferobide formulation means it outperforms standard materials under the demands of even the most aggressive of environments. Ferobide offers easy attachment through welding and is simply customised using regular workshop tools. This offers an unrivalled adaptability to large equipment manufacturers, local workshops and field repairers.

Aluminium

FF700 is widely approved in the primary aluminium industry for use as gaskets for siphon tubes.

Steel

FF700 and FF900 are used as backup insulation linings for ladles, heat shields for tundishes and casting ladles, and as gaskets in centrifugal casting moulds. FF1125 is used for roll coverings in bright annealing furnaces in the cold rolling process.

Glass

FF800 is the world-leading roll covering for rollers in annealing lehrs in the float glass process. FF700 is used as gaskets in glass furnaces.

High Temperature Processes

The versatile range of Tenmat millboards have found many uses as gaskets, heat shields, and thermal insulation in many high temperature applications such as boilers and heat pumps, cement production, gas fired and radiant heat furnaces and induction heating systems.
