STEERING GEAR AND RUDDER BEARINGS
Long service life and high wear resistance
Tests confirm that Feroform and Railko marine bearings have better wear resistance than elastomeric and polyester/polyester bearing materials, thus providing ship owners with up to 4 times longer service life and lower operating costs.
Tenmat Feroform and Railko bearings are self-lubricating and can be used in dry applications as well as traditional applications where grease or oil is present, and can also be used with water lubrication.
Steering gear and rudder bearings a glance
The product not only meets the stringent requirements of pressure capability, low friction (very low stick-slip) and low water swell but also has approvals for dry operation for upper pintle bearings.
- Accepts misalignment
- Low, friction, low stick-slip
- Excellent stability
- Shaft friendly
- Market-leading wear performance vs competitor materials
- Low swell
Materials
Feroform PR18
Feroform PR18 contains high performance resins and specially selected friction modifiers making it a stable and high wear resistant material.
Feroform T12
Feroform T12 is a composite material made from woven fibre bonded with resin with molybdenum disulphide as a friction modifier.
Feroform T14
Feroform T14 is a composite material made from woven fibre bonded with resin.
Railko NF21 & NF22
Railko NF21 and NF22 grades have a resin-bonded composite structure with added friction modifiers to control friction.
